Alarm buffer and on-screen help
Open the active alarm, read the ventilator’s own troubleshooting help, then use the clinical alarm pathway when the cause remains unclear.
Check the unit: Button paths below were verified against the U.S. software 3.0.x manual. On the ventilator, open System → Info to confirm its software version and installed options.
1Start with the patient and the delivered breathDo not let the screen outrank the bedside
- Assess oxygenation, ventilation, hemodynamics, chest movement, tube/circuit continuity, and whether the ventilator is delivering an effective breath.
- If ventilation is not effective, use the local emergency ventilation process while the team evaluates the device, circuit, tube, and patient.
2Open the alarm bufferTouch the active message or Alarms → Buffer
- Touch the active alarm message, the information icon when shown, or open Alarms → Buffer.
- Review active alarms first. When no alarms are active, the buffer shows recent inactive alarms.
- The buffer can show multiple alarm messages, which helps identify a cascade rather than anchoring on the last tone heard.
3Open on-screen troubleshooting helpTouch the alarm message inside the buffer
- Inside the buffer, touch the alarm message you want to review.
- The ventilator opens a Help window with troubleshooting information for that alarm.
- Touch another alarm message to change the help topic.
4Use Audio pause carefullySilence is temporary; the condition is not fixed
Audio pause temporarily suppresses most audible alarms and displays a countdown. If the problem is still present when the pause expires, the alarm sounds again.
Audio pause is not alarm resolution. Continue to evaluate the patient, circuit, tube, and ventilator.
