Hypotension: positive-pressure effect

PPV and PEEP can reduce venous return and affect RV output.

PEEP/FiO₂ knobsBalance oxygenation and hemodynamics.RV/shock patternConsider PE/RV failure/shock.

Look for

  • BP drop after PEEP/pressure increase.
  • Low EtCO₂ from reduced perfusion.
  • High intrathoracic pressure in obstructive physiology or ARDS.
