Secretions / mucus / blood branch

Tube obstruction can masquerade as high pressure or hypoxia.

Do

  • Pass suction catheter if safe/appropriate.
  • Check for mucus plug, blood, kink, biting, or occlusion.
  • Consider tube exchange if obstruction cannot be cleared.
